1. Natural soaps, creams, shampoos are becoming more and more popular lately. What is the difference between the natural soaps, creams and shampoos that DANINI manufactures and the industrial manufactured cosmetics?
The natural cosmetics we produce are derived exclusively from natural oils such as argan, coconut, olive, jojoba, macadamia, grape seed oil, castor oil, avocado, almond, shea butter and cocoa butter. The natural and organic cosmetics uses no products derived from animal fat, other than honey. The only inorganic ingredients we use in our soaps are sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide. Compared to industrial hygiene preparations, in which you always have 20-30 chemicals, which the producers of these preparations, individually or in combination, declare dangerous and toxic. Literally, we get our products from edible materials, so our unofficial motto is “If you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin”.
DANINI Natural Cosmetics does not use artificial colors, scents or preservatives. Instead, we use mineral pigments, essential oils and processes that allow our products to retain their properties for a certain period of time (shorter than industrially obtained cosmetics) and to maximize the natural effect on your skin, body and spirit.
In other words, our cosmetics are derived from natural sources, tested and used for centuries in nutrition and medicine, using a small number of selected processes that do not alter the natural and beneficial properties of the oils.
2. What does the term “Danini” mean? How did you come up with the idea for this name and what inspires you to produce a natural product?
With the registration of the company, we needed to choose a name. We became aware that it was going to represent the brand and the name had to be recognizable, phonetic and at the same time simple. My husband, who loves Italian culture, music and language, said at the outset: “Your nickname is Dani. Whose soaps are these?” They’re ‘Danini’ (In Macedonian) or ‘na Dani’ (Also in Macedonian)!” And that was it. Danini is in fact a phonetic variant, a possesive adjective, derived from my name by spoken Latinized with a shifting emphasis on the first syllable. We got the inspiration from the needs of our children. When we were using commercial soaps, redness and itching appeared immediately after each bath. It was the result of aggressive personal hygiene products that were declared to be baby-friendly, but actually full of chemicals.
So, I decided to explore how soaps can be made with a good smell and color, without being as detergent as industrial soaps. I attended some specialized training in natural soaps and natural cosmetics. Once I learned, I made a few pieces, and after some time of being tested by family members, relatives, and friends, I received unselfish support to found the Danini brand. A brand, that we are proud of.
3. You mentioned that your unofficial motto is “If you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin”. Can you explain this concept?
If you look at a branded cosmetic product, on the packaging you will notice at least 20-30 chemicals that serve a variety of purposes. These chemicals, through the skin as the largest human organ, are absorbed and transmitted throughout our body. There are numerous studies on their effects, but all agree that these are chemicals that cause health disorders, including carcinogens.
Danini’s natural cosmetic products stimulate and support the natural functions and processes of the skin and do not impose or cause different physiological processes like other cosmetics.
4. The skin is the largest organ of the human body. Can cosmetics heal?
My personal view is that prevention is the best treatment. Natural soaps, creams and shampoos primarily help prevent allergic reactions, skin irritations caused by industrial products. Otherwise yes, it can definitely heal by following the biological rhythm of our skin and encouraging self-corrective functions.
Since our skin is responsible for the whole organism, and besides being an organ that has its own functions, it is very important to stimulate its natural way of functioning, not overload it. The skin is treated as a complete organ, and natural cosmetics have the task to activate its own functions, making the skin a healthy organ capable of overcoming all irregularities itself. The natural cosmetics do not create skin addiction, but revitalize and harmonize the body and spirit.
5. Who is the buyer of your products range? Do you remember a specific request from a customer?
Most of our clients contacted us because of a specific problem they have with their skin or hair.
6. Where can we find your products except in the store in Makedonska Kamenica?
